Name Post-fire UAV LiDAR dataset of the Las Médulas Cultural Heritage Site (León, Spain)
Description

This dataset contains high-resolution UAV-LiDAR data acquired in September and November 2025 following the Yeres wildfire affecting the Las Médulas Cultural Heritage Site (León, Spain). Las Médulas is a UNESCO World Heritage landscape shaped by large-scale Roman gold mining, making precise post-fire documentation essential for archaeological, geomorphological, and environmental assessment. The dataset includes LiDAR point clouds, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Digital Surface Models (DSM), and orthomosaics (DOM) produced for the full extent of the BIC. These open-access data provide an unprecedented 3D record of post-fire terrain conditions, vegetation loss, and erosion patterns, supporting heritage management, ecological monitoring, and scientific research.

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data A total of 37 UAV flights were conducted using DJI Matrice 300/350 platforms equipped with Zenmuse L1 and L2 LiDAR sensors. Terrain-following acquisition was performed at 120 m AGL using double-grid flight plans.

[Methods for processing the data] Data were processed in DJI Terra v5.1.0 to generate LAS point clouds, DEM, DSM, and DOM. Output rasters and clouds were tiled (1×1 km or 2×2 km) using Python scripts (included).
