Name Data from the ALISOS project's consumer survey in Central-Western Tuscany and the Region of Madrid
Description

The dataset contains information on consumers linked to farmers’ markets and consumer groups in two metropolitan areas in Southern Europe: the polycentric metropolitan system of Florence-Prato-Pisa, in central-western Tuscany (Italy), and the Community of Madrid (Spain). It brings together territorial, economic, attitudinal, behavioral, and sociodemographic variables, allowing for the analysis of both consumer profiles and their relationships with sustainable food consumption. The main fields include region, type of initiative, average spending on purchases, the proportion of organic and/or local products in consumption, perceived barriers to accessing these foods, variables related to activism, food values, and responsible consumption practices—including waste separation, avoiding excessive consumption, seeking product information, and choosing more sustainable purchasing options. Finally, it includes sociodemographic variables such as gender, age, ZIP code, educational level, occupation, household composition, and average gross income.
